Let’s have a closer look at the prices, the results, and more on how you can take part in this upcoming draw.
Price of a Thai Lottery Ticket:
As Thai lottery king is managed by the government authorities themselves, they are the only entities responsible for the management of the entire competition.
From printing to distribution, they take the lead. Once distributed to the retailers, they are distributed further onto the vendors and then off to the people.
Here is the deal:
The price of a single lottery ticket is not set. However, it is most commonly sold for 40 baht and available almost everywhere. A pair of two tickets, which is preferred over single tickets, are sold for 80 or 100 baht.
Outcomes of the Thai Lottery draw:
You can take part in the Thai lottery by purchasing either of the two types of tickets which are available in the local market.
Thai Government Lottery (TGL) or Thai Charity Lottery (TCL), are the two types of tickets and each of them has a different payout associated with them.
Although they are bought at the same price, the difference lies in the first prize winnings and the tax which is applied to the winner’s payout.
TGL tickets have a first prize winning of 3 million baht, combined with a 30 million baht bonus package. The winnings are taxed at a rate of 0.5%, which is very appropriate considering other taxes.
On the other hand, Thai lottery tickets have a first prize winning of 3 million baht. However, the bonus prize is worth 22 million baht and are taxed at a rate of 1%.
What about other prizes?
Don’t worry. Other than the first prize, other prizes are also there in case you can’t match all your numbers in the first prize draw.
Second prize is of 100,000 baht, in case you do match the entire six numbers of the second prize draw results.
Similarly, 50,000, 20,000, and 10,000 baht are the rewards of third, fourth and fifth prize rewards.
Other than these prizes, special prizes of 50,000 baht are also available.
Claiming the Prize:
Usually, the awards which pay below 20,000 baht can be cashed by visiting the vendor who sold you the ticket. For prizes greater than 20,000, the GLO head office is responsible for the payout. You should visit the office within 2 years of the draw to claim your award.
